About the Author

As far back as she can remember, Dorrienne Roughley had a love of locomotives. As a child, her parents used to take her to the docks to see the shunting engines. Her own career path started as an engineering technician for a computer company and she went on to become a successful project engineer in process control.

When she inherited Harry Webster’s memoirs and photos, she was felt compelled to complete and publish his biography – 110 years after the start of his apprenticeship. Retirement has allowed time for her to achieve this goal and she continues to indulge her main hobbies of genealogy, travel and of course... railways!

During his career, Harry wrote the following:

2750: Legend of a Locomotive.  (1953)                                    click photo for details>
